The Akita is a thick-coated Japanese dog breed, and Salehe Bembury named this PUMA Velum Nitro after it. 'Akita' keeps the upper near-monochrome in sand and toasted almond tones so the sculpted overlays read by shadow rather than color. NITROFOAM shapes the midsole beneath a multi-layered engineered mesh. Bembury's fingerprint motif is worked into the overlay panels, taken from his own print rather than a generic pattern.
