SoleFly x Air Jordan 5 Brings Boxing-Inspired Details to a Jordan Classic

SoleFly’s next Jordan collaboration is taking the Air Jordan 5 somewhere unexpected. Rather than dramatically rebuilding the silhouette, the Miami retailer is experimenting with how the shoe is worn, introducing a new lacing system that gives the basketball classic a subtle boxing-inspired identity.

The most distinctive detail allows the laces to travel around the ankle before returning toward the front of the shoe. Combined with the Air Jordan 5’s already high-cut construction, the setup creates a look reminiscent of traditional boxing footwear while keeping the familiar Jordan silhouette intact.

The primary colorway takes a considerably darker approach. Black and Anthracite cover most of the upper, while Aurora Green provides brighter hits around the tongue branding and midsole. A Muslin tint across the translucent outsole adds a slightly aged finish underneath.

Jordan Brand has also revealed a second version through its 232323232323 platform. That pair switches to a cleaner white-and-black palette while retaining the same recognizable Air Jordan 5 shape and unconventional wraparound lacing concept.

The boxing influence extends beyond the sneaker itself. Jordan Brand presented the collaboration alongside matching apparel in its latest lookbook, reinforcing the theme as part of a broader SoleFly collection rather than an isolated design detail.

The project continues a long-running relationship between SoleFly and Jordan Brand. Following their Air Jordan 3 collaboration in 2025, the retailer is now moving onto another of Michael Jordan’s signature models, with reports also linking SoleFly to an Air Jordan 4 project for 2027.

The SoleFly x Air Jordan 5 is expected to release in October 2026 as part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday lineup for $225 USD. Exact launch details have yet to be confirmed.
