Rukus Serves Up Another Sweet Dunk Collaboration

For over 25 years, Rukus has been one of the pillars of Louisiana skate culture. Now, the Baton Rouge shop is turning its own history into its latest collaboration with Nike through the playful Dunk Low 'Donut.'

The release revolves around one number: 103. Ever since Rukus opened in 2000, the number has become synonymous with the shop. Inspired by a local police code reportedly used for disturbance calls, "103" eventually became part of the store's identity, appearing across apparel, skate decks, stickers, videos, and social media over the years.

That history serves as the foundation for the Rukus x Nike Dunk Low 'Donut.' Leaning into the familiar cops, coffee, and donuts stereotype, the project blends the shop's personality with one of America's favorite sweet treats.

To further tie the release to its hometown roots, Rukus partnered with Baton Rouge staple Mary Lee Donuts. The family-owned shop has long been a local favorite, making the collaboration feel like a true community effort rather than just another sneaker launch.

The experience surrounding the release goes beyond the shoes themselves. Special packaging accompanies the pair, along with a plush donut-shaped "R" accessory, commemorative cards explaining the story behind the collaboration, and classic white donut hats. Rukus is also bringing a specially wrapped police car to the launch event, while the first fifty buyers will receive additional surprises.

More than anything, the project highlights what has made boutique collaborations so special over the years. Instead of relying solely on hype, the Rukus Dunk Low embraces local culture, personal history, and community connections to create something unique.

For Rukus, the 'Donut' Dunk isn't simply another collaboration—it is a celebration of the shop's identity and the city that helped shape it. The Rukus x Nike Dunk Low 'Donut' launches on June 20, 2026, at 1 PM CT through a special Mary Lee Donuts pop-up located at 3486 Drusilla Lane in Baton Rouge. Remaining pairs will release online via Rukus103.com beginning at 4 PM CT. A wider retail launch is expected in July 2026.
