A Nike classic worn by Kobe is returning.ByAaron ShamimJan 13, 2026

Nike Basketball is bringing back a true early-2000s classic with the return of the Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 'All-Star,' officially releasing February 12, 2026. The retro lands right in time for NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, the same city where the shoe first made its mark over two decades ago.
Designed by Eric Avar, the Zoom Huarache 2K4 debuted in 2004 and blended design cues from several Nike icons, including the Air Force 1, Flight Huarache, and Zoom Hyperflight. While it was never formally part of Kobe Bryant’s signature line, the model is forever tied to his legacy after he wore this exact colorway during the 2004 NBA All-Star Game.

What made the Huarache 2K4 stand out then — and still today — is its balance of performance and structure. A leather upper provides durability and lockdown, while visible Zoom Air cushioning delivers responsive court feel. The silhouette’s bold paneling and clean construction helped define an era when Nike Basketball was pushing aggressive design innovation.
This 2026 retro stays faithful to the original. Classic details return, including the embroidered “LA” ankle logo and a 2004 NBA All-Star date stamp inside the shoe, reinforcing its historical connection. Nike last released the 'All-Star' colorway in 2016 as part of the Fade to Black Collection, making this upcoming drop the first standalone retro in nearly a decade.
With All-Star Weekend heading back to Los Angeles, the timing feels intentional. The Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 'All-Star' isn’t just a retro — it’s a reminder of a pivotal moment in Nike Basketball history and Kobe Bryant’s influence on the game’s culture. The Nike Zoom Huarache 2K4 'All-Star' releases February 12, 2026.
