Nike is pushing its Air Max lineage forward with the debut of the Nike Air Liquid Max, a bold new sportswear model that blends advanced cushioning with an experimental visual identity. Built from more than four decades of innovation in the Nike Air Max franchise, the Liquid Max introduces a fresh silhouette designed to stand apart from anything previously released in the category.
At the core of the design is a newly engineered point-loaded Air unit that focuses cushioning exactly where it’s needed underfoot. The contoured Air platform sits low to the ground and is surrounded by sculpted negative space, reducing weight while maintaining stability and smooth transitions with every step. This “less-is-more” engineering approach aims to bring wearers closer than ever to the sensation of walking on air.

The upper pushes the futuristic concept even further. A sleek low-profile mesh base is layered with three-dimensional textured printing, creating depth, tactility, and structural support. From a distance, the upper appears unified, but up close the layered construction reveals intricate surfaces that give the silhouette its unique character.
Nature served as the unexpected design reference. The shoe’s visual language draws inspiration from the vibrant coloration of the poison dart frog, an amphibian known for its striking warning patterns. That influence appears clearly in the launch colorway, where electric green tones dominate the upper, complemented by a chrome Swoosh and a glossy seamless finish.
Underfoot, a tinted translucent rubber outsole completes the futuristic look while reinforcing the shoe’s bold aesthetic. The combination of daring color, layered textures, and sculpted Air cushioning positions the Liquid Max as both a design statement and a technical evolution within Nike’s lifestyle lineup. The Nike Air Liquid Max will release on March 26, 2026.
