New Balance Introduces 'Year of the Horse' Collection

New Balance is quietly celebrating Lunar New Year 2026 with its 'Year of the Horse' Collection. Rather than using flashy colors or overt holiday motifs, the collection embraces restraint and subtle design touches, reflecting a thoughtful approach to the annual celebration. Each silhouette prioritizes craftsmanship and wearable style over gimmicks, keeping the focus on quality and understated aesthetics.

The lineup includes six pairs, ranging from classic 574s to more structured 2010 and 2000 models. The 574s appear in brown and khaki, offering a neutral and versatile look. The 204L incorporates grey and white with faux horse-hair heel tabs, the most explicit nod to the Lunar New Year theme. Meanwhile, the 2010 and 2000 models explore materiality and contrast, blending leather, mesh, and nubuck panels with functional design cues.

Subtle woven details on tongues and heels add texture, while ABZORB midsoles maintain New Balance’s signature comfort. Across the collection, restraint and practicality define the aesthetic, giving each pair a timeless appeal without overwhelming seasonal branding. The muted tones and carefully considered materials make the collection feel cohesive while remaining versatile for everyday wear.

The New Balance 'Year of the Horse' Collection launches January 1, 2026, exclusively in Japan. Key silhouettes in the pack include the 574, 204L, 2010, and 2000, all reflecting the brand’s understated approach to Lunar New Year style.
