Hellstar Officially Unveils their adidas AE 2 Collaboration
Hellstar brings gritty edge to adidas AE 2.ByAaron ShamimFeb 10, 2026

Hellstar has officially unveiled its collaboration on the adidas AE 2, offering a full look at the Los Angeles–based brand’s gritty take on Anthony Edwards’ second signature model. Edwards first wore the pair on February 9, 2026, during the Timberwolves’ matchup against the Hawks, before Hellstar followed up with detailed imagery on Instagram. A rollout is expected during NBA All-Star Week, supported by adidas on-site activations.
Originally debuted during the 2025–26 NBA season, the adidas AE 2 continues the design language introduced by Edwards’ first signature shoe. The model was developed by the adidas Basketball design team led by Jacques Chassaing, who emphasized bold structure, low-to-the-ground responsiveness, and visual impact—qualities that quickly became synonymous with Edwards’ explosive style of play. The AE 2 refines that formula with updated shaping and material balance while maintaining its aggressive on-court identity.

Hellstar’s interpretation leans heavily into its signature aesthetic. A sand-toned camouflage pattern wraps the engineered upper and extends into the inner lining, giving the shoe a uniform, almost tactical presence. Each tongue features different branding—Hellstar’s burning-face logo on one, Edwards’ apex mark on the other—creating a deliberate split between collaborator and athlete. Subtle neon green accents punctuate the muted palette, adding contrast without overpowering the design.
From a construction standpoint, the AE 2’s core elements remain intact, including structured overlays, breathable zones, and a sculpted midsole built for speed and control. The restraint suggests a broader strategy from adidas Basketball: preserve the performance foundation while allowing collaborators to reshape the visual narrative.
While official release details have yet to be confirmed, the Hellstar x adidas AE 2 is expected to launch around NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, aligning with the brand’s high-profile reveal and Edwards’ growing presence on the league’s biggest stage.
