adidas AE 2 '3SSB' Revives Anthony Edwards’ Tie-Dye Theme

adidas is bringing back one of the most recognizable themes from Anthony Edwards’ signature line with the upcoming adidas Anthony Edwards 2 '3SSB.' The new colorway revisits the vibrant AAU-inspired aesthetic first introduced on the AE 1, this time with a softer and more refined palette.

The upper blends pink, peach, and purple shades across a layered textile build, creating a look that feels closer to a heat-map gradient than a traditional tie-dye pattern. Colors flow naturally across the side panels, heel, and tongue, giving the sneaker a bright but controlled visual identity.

While the upper leans expressive, the molded support cage and outsole take a cleaner approach through muted peach and lavender finishes. That balance helps the design stay energetic without becoming overwhelming, reinforcing the more polished direction of the AE 2 overall.

The '3SSB' concept originally stood out because of its connection to adidas Basketball’s grassroots and AAU presence. By reviving the theme on Anthony Edwards’ second signature model, adidas continues tying his line to youth basketball culture while giving longtime fans a callback to one of the AE 1’s most memorable releases.
