Nike KD 6 'Texas' Returning December 2026

Nike is bringing back a fan-favorite colorway from Kevin Durant’s signature line with the return of the Nike KD 6 'Texas.' The retro release is scheduled for December 1, 2026, reconnecting the sneaker to Durant’s collegiate roots. The news arrives shortly after Durant and Nike introduced the Team KD NIL program with the Texas Longhorns, further strengthening the ongoing relationship between the NBA star and the University of Texas.

Originally released on October 10, 2013, the KD 6 'Texas' honored Durant’s lone college season with the Longhorns before he entered the NBA. The colorway quickly became one of the most recognizable releases from the KD 6 lineup thanks to its bold use of Texas-inspired colors.

Designed by Leo Chang, the KD 6 introduced a lightweight build engineered for speed. The upper uses a two-layer Hyperfuse construction reinforced with Flywire cables, creating a supportive yet minimal structure that helps lock the foot in place during quick movements. Performance cushioning combines Zoom Air in the forefoot with a Max Air unit in the heel, delivering a balance of responsiveness and impact protection. This setup helped make the KD 6 one of the most popular on-court models within Durant’s Nike signature series.

The “Texas” colorway highlights the university’s palette with bright orange Hyperfuse panels across the throat and medial side. Black overlays wrap the lateral side and toe, while Green Glow speckling adds contrast throughout the design. Glow-in-the-dark details appear on the Swoosh, midsole, and portions of the outsole, giving the sneaker a distinctive finish. Underfoot, the shoe maintains its signature hexagon traction pattern designed to provide strong grip during fast cuts and directional changes on the court. 

The Nike KD 6 'Texas' is currently expected to release on December 1, 2026.
