Titled 'Better With Time,' the collaboration builds on Sylvester’s BMX lifestyle, spotlighting how sneakers—and culture—evolve through wear, experience, and purpose. Debuting through a bold NYC billboard campaign, this colorway is more than a shoe; it’s a symbol of grit, movement, and momentum.

Nigel's History with Jordan Brand

Nigel Sylvester and Nike have a rich history of working together since 2005. He first collaborated with Jordan Brand in 2018 with the release of the Nigel Sylvester x Air Jordan 1, a distressed sneaker inspired by the natural wear and tear from BMX riding. In 2021, Sylvester officially joined Jordan Brand, becoming the first professional BMX athlete to sign with the brand. Sylvester also played a major role in the 2024 introduction of the Jordan 4 RM, a reimagined version of the classic Air Jordan 4. Which was the perfect lead-up to his Air Jordan 4 'Brick by Brick' collaboration. 

Behind the Design

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'Better With Time' pairs tumbled black leather with hand-distressed detailing, echoing the everyday wear and tear of BMX culture. Cream-toned laces and an aged Sail midsole add to the vintage aesthetic, while a Varsity Red outsole brings bold contrast and energy. The shoe also features reflective 3M piping around the Swoosh, revealing subtle depth under flash. Branding elements include a mini stitched Swoosh, Nigel’s signature “Bike Air” logos on the tongue and insole, and a special-edition box lined with bike silhouette graphics—a nod to his world in motion.
