Suede, mesh, cow leather and patent leather accents all appear in the New Balance 204L's upper, layered into a multi-piece build. 'Cortado' holds the whole shoe to one warm coffee brown, carried over the mesh, the suede overlays and the sole unit alike. With contrast removed, the embossed arcs along the overlays and the saddle's screen-printed graphics become the only lines breaking the panel. The suede takes the brown deeper than the mesh does, so the material split stays legible without a second color.
