Nike Air Max 95 'Joker' Brings Comic-Inspired Colors to a Classic

Nike is giving the Air Max 95 another comic-inspired makeover, following the upcoming 'Batman' colorway with a darker purple-and-green combination that has earned an unofficial 'Joker' nickname.
There is no official collaboration with DC behind the release. Instead, the connection comes entirely from its color palette, which pairs the Air Max 95’s signature greyscale construction with shades commonly associated with Batman’s most famous villain.

The upper stays relatively faithful to the model’s traditional gradient aesthetic. Black mesh covers the tongue and upper portion of the sneaker, while the layered side panels transition through Smoke Grey and Dark Smoke Grey before reaching near-black along the mudguard and toe.
Canyon Purple begins to disrupt that monochromatic foundation through smaller details. The color appears on the miniature Swooshes near the heel, tongue branding, and portions of the outsole, while a blue-purple tint is visible through the exposed Air cushioning.

The strongest contrast is reserved for the bottom. Bright green fills the exposed section beneath the arch and returns on the insoles, creating a sharp break from the darker construction above. Purple rubber across the forefoot completes the combination responsible for the sneaker’s villain-inspired nickname.
Its arrival alongside the similarly unofficial 'Batman' edition gives Nike two Air Max 95 releases that naturally play off each other, even without an official comic-book partnership. Both use recognizable character palettes to give the silhouette a different identity while keeping its classic layered design intact. The Nike Air Max 95 'Joker' is expected to release during Fall 2026 for $190 USD.
