Undefeated x Air Jordan 5 Collaboration Surfaces Ahead of 2027 Release

More than two decades after Undefeated helped create one of the most elusive Air Jordans ever made, the Los Angeles retailer is preparing to put its stamp on the Air Jordan 5 once again. A first look at the Undefeated x Air Jordan 5 'Moon Fossil' has now surfaced, offering an early preview of one of two colorways reportedly planned for 2027.

The collaboration carries plenty of history. Undefeated's original Air Jordan 4 from 2005 became one of the defining sneaker collaborations of its era, combining military influences with extremely limited availability. The upcoming Air Jordan 5 project appears ready to bring that utilitarian design language into a new silhouette.

'Moon Fossil' covers the shoe in a tan canvas-style material, giving the Air Jordan 5 a rugged appearance that feels naturally connected to Undefeated's aesthetic. Tonal netting and overlays keep the upper relatively understated, allowing the collaboration-specific details to stand out. Undefeated's Five Strike logo appears in olive near the lateral heel, while the rear introduces Nike Air-style embroidery with “UND” positioned underneath.

A reflective silver tongue provides a sharp contrast to the neutral upper, complete with black striping through the center and a red Jumpman at the top. Translucent lace locks and an icy outsole add familiar Air Jordan 5 elements to the otherwise military-inspired presentation. Underfoot, black runs along portions of the midsole alongside white shark teeth and a cream-colored section around the forefoot.

The 'Moon Fossil' is reportedly only half of Undefeated's upcoming Air Jordan 5 project. A second colorway combining Light Chocolate, University Red, Cement Grey, and Black is also expected, although images of that pair have yet to surface.

Both shoes would expand a partnership that has maintained an almost mythical reputation among collectors since its earliest Jordan projects. The timing should give the comeback an even bigger stage. The Undefeated x Air Jordan 5 'Moon Fossil' is expected to release February 18, 2027, during NBA All-Star Weekend in Phoenix. A corresponding apparel collection featuring hoodies, sweatpants, and T-shirts is also expected.
