Bill Bowerman designed the Nike LD-1000 in 1977 for runners putting in road mileage, fitting it with the waffle tread he had patented three years earlier. 'Ice Lilac Pacific Blue' sets a pale lilac across the mesh upper with pacific blue on the suede overlays and Swoosh, letting the cooler blue outline the warmer lilac. Square studs cover the outsole. The tongue sits thin and unpadded, consistent with how the original was built to save weight.
