Vinyl gives this Nyota figure a hard molded body, unlike the plush construction Pop Mart uses across much of the character's range. The Peko series draws on Fujiya's Peko-chan, the Japanese confectionery mascot drawn with her tongue out since 1950. Nyota keeps her short choppy bangs and simple painted features beneath the borrowed look. The tongue-out expression is Peko-chan's single most recognizable trait, which gives the crossover one fixed point to land on.
