Bill Bowerman designed the Nike LD-1000 in 1977 as one of the brand's first purpose-built long-distance running shoes. 'Campfire Orange Sail' runs a warm orange across the suede overlays against a sail-toned mesh upper. The Waffle outsole below carries the grip pattern Bowerman developed, and the low-profile build keeps the heel close to the ground, holding the slim proportions that distance runners of that era trained in.
