A nylon mesh body with suede reinforcement gives the Nike LD-1000 its upper, the material pairing Bowerman specified in 1977 to keep a long-distance trainer light without letting it collapse. 'White Work Blue' keeps that mesh white and sets Work Blue across the suede overlays, the Swoosh and the heel. The waffle outsole runs below. Stitched eyestay panels take the lace tension off the mesh, spreading it into the suede instead.
