A polka dot pattern prints across the upper of this women's Nike Cortez, the evenly spaced circles repeating over the quarter and toe panels. 'Polka Dots - Black White' sets those dots in high contrast, each circle fully resolved against its ground. Nike built the Cortez in 1972 as its first running shoe, and the low-slung shape and herringbone outsole have remained constant. Regular dot spacing across a paneled upper means the pattern breaks at every seam, marking where one piece ends.
