Wales Bonner's work with adidas Y-3 extends past footwear into apparel. 'Aurora Coffee' gives these rip shorts a muted brown ground. The construction leaves raw, ripped edges at the hem rather than finishing them with a turned seam. The waistband is elasticated, and the unfinished hem is a deliberate construction choice rather than a sign of wear. The brown is dyed through the yarn, so the ripped edge shows the same tone as the face.
