Nike Kobe AD Protro 'Laser Orange' Modernizes Kobe’s Post-Retirement Signature

The Kobe AD marked an important transition for Kobe Bryant’s signature line. Originally introduced in 2016 following his retirement from the NBA, the model moved the series beyond numbered releases while continuing the low-profile performance approach that had defined many of his later sneakers.
A decade later, Nike is bringing that silhouette into the Protro era. The upcoming 'Laser Orange' keeps the recognizable Kobe AD shape largely intact while completely rebuilding what runners beneath the foot.

Nike combines a full-length React carrier with ZoomX cushioning in the forefoot and Zoom Air in the heel. The three-part setup represents a significant update from the original model while following the Protro philosophy of improving performance without dramatically changing the sneaker’s appearance.
'Laser Orange' also takes the Kobe AD somewhere it has not been before. Rather than reviving an original release, Nike covers nearly the entire upper in bright orange, extending the color across the tongue and laces.

A deeper Safety Orange tone adds dimension through the Swoosh, midsole, and heel. Kobe’s logo is molded into the rear, his signature appears near the collar, and subtle “Zoom” branding on the midsole hints at the technology hidden inside.
The release will arrive alongside returning Kobe AD colorways such as 'Purple Stardust,' but 'Laser Orange' stands apart as an entirely new addition to the model’s history.
The Nike Kobe AD Protro 'Laser Orange' is expected to release during Holiday 2026 in men’s sizing for $155 USD.
