Nike LeBron 24 'Chosen 1s' Revisits a Name That Defined LeBron’s Career

Before the championships, scoring records, and more than two decades in the NBA, LeBron James was already being called “The Chosen One.” Nike is now looking back at that defining piece of his story for an upcoming LeBron 24 colorway.

The Nike LeBron 24 'Chosen 1s' references the nickname that became synonymous with James before he ever played an NBA game. As a high school senior at St. Vincent-St. Mary, LeBron famously appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated beneath the headline “The Chosen One,” capturing the enormous expectations surrounding him as a teenager.

More than two decades later, the theme takes on a different meaning. James has since become the NBA’s all-time leading scorer and won four championships, turning a nickname originally built around potential into a reflection of one of basketball’s longest and most accomplished careers.

For the sneaker, Tour Yellow creates an especially bold foundation, covering nearly the entire upper and extending across much of the sole. Midnight Navy, White, and Metallic Gold provide smaller contrasting details throughout the design.

LeBron provided the first look at the colorway while training with Chris Johnson, but the limited workout footage leaves many of its finer details hidden. Nike has yet to reveal exactly how the 'Chosen 1s' story will be incorporated beyond the colorway and nickname.

That could leave room for more personal references when official images arrive. LeBron’s signature sneakers have increasingly looked backward at important moments from his career, and few pieces of his pre-NBA story carry as much recognition as the 'Chosen One' cover. The Nike LeBron 24 'Chosen 1s' is expected to release December 1, 2026, for $190 USD.
