Nike Kobe 7 Protro 'Halo' Continues Kobe Bryant’s Birthday Tradition in 2027

Every August 23, Nike Basketball honors Kobe Bryant's legacy with a special all-white sneaker celebrating his birthday. In 2027, that tradition will continue with the Nike Kobe 7 Protro 'Halo,' bringing another chapter of his signature footwear history into the annual tribute.

The 'Halo' series began in 2023 when Nike and Vanessa Bryant introduced the Kobe 8 Protro in a completely white colorway. The concept has since evolved into a yearly celebration, revisiting different silhouettes from Kobe's signature line while maintaining a consistent, minimalist aesthetic.

In 2024, the collection expanded with three versions of the Kobe 9 Protro, including the Elite High, Elite Low, and Engineered Mesh editions. The Kobe 3 Protro followed in 2025, introducing modern performance updates such as full-length Zoom Strobel cushioning, Cushlon 3.0 foam, and improved traction.

Nike continued the tradition in 2026 with the Kobe 10 Protro 'Halo,' setting the stage for the Kobe 7 to take its place in 2027. The release will also mark another step in the silhouette's return, with the popular 'Invisibility Cloak' colorway expected to receive its first Protro treatment during the same year.

While official images have not yet surfaced, the upcoming Kobe 7 is expected to follow the established 'Halo' formula. White should dominate the upper, Swooshes, and midsole, with Kobe's signature branding completing the design. Minor black accents remain possible, although Nike has not confirmed the final appearance.

Specific materials and performance upgrades have also yet to be announced. As with previous Protro releases, the Kobe 7 is expected to retain its recognizable design while introducing updates suited to modern basketball.
