Jordan Tatum 5 Is Built to Put Jayson Tatum in Control

Jayson Tatum’s signature line is entering its fifth generation with Jordan Brand and is designed around one defining idea: control. The new Jordan Tatum 5 translates Tatum’s patient, calculated style of basketball into a lightweight performance package built for players who dictate the pace rather than react to it.

The most noticeable addition is a dynamic utility strap across the upper. Jordan Brand developed the system to secure the foot without adding unnecessary weight, giving players additional containment as they cut, stop, and change direction.

Underfoot, a 10-millimeter forefoot Air Zoom unit provides responsive cushioning and energy return for quick bursts. A molded midfoot wrap and structured heel add stability, while a herringbone traction pattern made with HART 2.0 rubber is designed to support sharper stops and precise footwork.

Jordan Brand has also focused on keeping the Tatum 5 breathable and light. Ballistic mesh vents appear across the lateral, medial, and forefoot areas, working alongside a perforated sidewall and other lightweight materials to improve airflow. A soft molded upper continues the fluid design language established across previous Tatum models while opening the door for different materials and finishes.

The sneaker also introduces an updated version of Tatum’s No. 0 branding on the heel. Its new shape references the famous Gateway Arch in his hometown of St. Louis, bringing a personal detail into the otherwise performance-driven design.

For its debut, Jordan Brand is connecting the shoe to another city central to Tatum’s career. The launch 'Sunrise' colorway takes inspiration from a Boston sunrise, while the upcoming 'Sunset' edition looks to the city at the opposite end of the day. Together, the two colorways represent Tatum’s work ethic from morning through night.

The Tatum 5 ultimately reflects the evolution of both Tatum and his signature series. Rather than focusing purely on speed, Jordan Brand has built the fifth model around staying balanced, contained, and responsive enough to control each possession. The Jordan Tatum 5 will launch September 24, 2026, in China, with a global release to follow. The sneaker will be offered in full-family sizing.
