The Cubiec format rebuilds each Disney and Pixar character as a hard-edged block, flattening rounded forms into right-angled planes. Pop Mart applies it across a licensed series, reducing fur, fabric and limbs to flat color fields on cube faces. The treatment keeps each character identifiable through palette and marking rather than silhouette. Squaring a character removes the proportions that usually carry recognition, so the surface graphics have to do that work instead.
