Nike Ja 4 High 'Zombie' Brings Back High-Top Basketball Sneakers for Halloween

Nike Basketball is taking Ja Morant's signature line in an unexpected direction this Halloween. The Nike Ja 4 High 'Zombie' introduces a high-top version of his fourth signature sneaker, bringing back a design approach rarely seen in today's low-cut basketball footwear market.

The most significant change is the addition of a full-length zippered shroud that wraps around the upper. Reminiscent of the Air Jordan 28, the construction conceals the traditional lacing system underneath while creating a more futuristic, enclosed silhouette.

Morant's signature arrow graphics appear as raised details across the exterior, giving the shoe a textured, almost armored appearance. The combination of the extended collar, zipper, and sculpted panels makes this one of the most unconventional designs in the Ja signature series.

The colorway takes an equally bold approach. University Red covers nearly the entire sneaker, from the upper to the outsole, creating a look reminiscent of Nike's famous 'Red October' aesthetic. Metallic Medium Olive accents on the reverse Swoosh and midfoot support element provide subtle contrast against the bright red foundation.

Despite its aggressive exterior, the Halloween theme is primarily hidden inside the sneaker. Custom insoles feature a zombie-inspired illustration of Ja Morant alongside graffiti-style “Twelve Time” lettering, giving the design a connection to the holiday without relying on traditional horror graphics across the upper.

The release arrives alongside the standard Nike Ja 4 'Halloween,' which features distressed green materials and glow-in-the-dark details. Together, the two designs offer different interpretations of the zombie theme, with the high-top version introducing a new silhouette to Morant's growing footwear lineup.
