MENACE x adidas Adistar Control 5 'Heat Signature' Brings Thermal Vision to Streetwear

Los Angeles streetwear label MENACE is putting a bold new spin on adidas' retro running catalog. Its latest collaboration, the Adistar Control 5 'Heat Signature,' transforms the technical runner into a statement piece inspired by the vibrant colors of thermal imaging.

The sneaker arrives as adidas continues to reintroduce the Adistar Control 5 through a growing lineup of collaborations. Following projects with Unheardof and Larry June, MENACE brings its own streetwear perspective to the silhouette, emphasizing experimental colors and contrasting materials.

Rather than relying on traditional color blocking, the collaboration uses a heatmap-inspired gradient that transitions between white, yellow, and red across the toe and side panels. The effect resembles thermal imaging, creating the illusion of changing temperatures across the sneaker.

Black overlays with a subtle color-shifting finish sit above the brighter sections, while Collegiate Purple covers much of the surrounding upper and midsole. The darker foundation creates a sharp contrast that allows the colorful gradient to stand out.

Metallic Silver Three Stripes add another layer of texture along the sides, accompanied by MENACE branding that reinforces the collaborative identity. Additional branding appears on the tongue, completing a design that balances the Adistar Control 5's technical roots with contemporary streetwear styling.

The sneaker was previously spotted on-foot at ComplexCon, offering an early look at the collaboration before official images surfaced. Its distinctive color treatment positions it among the more experimental releases in adidas' recent Adistar Control 5 lineup.

The MENACE x adidas Adistar Control 5 'Heat Signature' releases October 27, 2026. Available in men's sizing, the sneaker will retail for $180 USD.
