Eminem x Air Jordan 4 'Encore' Finally Releases in 2027

One of the rarest Air Jordan collaborations ever made is finally becoming available to the public. The Eminem x Air Jordan 4 'Encore' will receive its first-ever retail release in Spring 2027, more than two decades after the legendary blue colorway was originally created exclusively for friends and family.

The story dates back to 2005, when Jordan Brand produced the original 'Encore' Air Jordan 4 around the release of Eminem’s Encore album. Only around 50 pairs are believed to have been made, immediately turning the sneaker into one of the most elusive celebrity collaborations in Jordan Brand history.

Its rarity only grew with time. Jordan Brand revisited the 'Encore' in 2017 around Eminem’s Revival album, producing an even smaller run of just 23 pairs. Rather than producing an exact recreation of either previous version, Jordan Brand is updating the 'Encore' for its long-awaited retail debut. Blue Ribbon nubuck covers most of the upper, maintaining the unmistakable blue appearance of the original. Translucent wing eyelets and black detailing provide contrast throughout the silhouette.

One of the biggest changes comes through the accents. Game Purple replaces the red detailing associated with the 2005 edition, appearing across the Jumpman branding and other smaller elements. Hidden “Eminem” lettering behind the tongue maintains the collaboration’s connection to the Detroit rapper.

Jordan Brand is also expected to update the sneaker’s shape to better reflect the proportions of the original Air Jordan 4. White surrounds the visible Air cushioning underfoot, while Stealth and Black complete the outsole. One detail that remains uncertain is the heel branding. The original 2005 'Encore' featured a Jumpman on the back, while the upcoming retail version could potentially receive Nike Air branding. Jordan Brand has yet to confirm the final treatment.

For collectors, the significance of the release goes far beyond another Air Jordan 4 retro. The 'Encore' has spent more than 20 years as a sneaker most fans could only see through photos, private collections, and extremely rare resale listings. Its first public launch will finally give a much wider audience an opportunity to own a piece of Eminem and Jordan Brand history. The Eminem x Air Jordan 4 'Encore' releases on May 15, 2027, and will retail for $230 USD.
