The worlds of anime and sneakers are colliding as One Piece and Nike officially join forces for a collection inspired by one of the series’ most important concepts: Devil Fruits. At the center of the collaboration are three Air Max Plus colorways, each translating a different Devil Fruit and its supernatural abilities into footwear. The lineup draws from the Gomu Gomu no Mi, Mera Mera no Mi, and Ope Ope no Mi, giving each pair its own visual identity rather than relying on simple character graphics.

The Gomu Gomu edition takes inspiration from the rubber-like abilities associated with its fruit, using the Air Max Plus as a canvas to reference the powers central to the story. The Mera Mera pair shifts toward a fire-inspired treatment, reflecting the fruit’s ability to create and control flames.

The Ope Ope version explores another direction entirely. Its design references the fruit’s signature “ROOM” ability, separating it visually from the other two sneakers while maintaining the larger Devil Fruit concept. One Piece branding is integrated throughout the collection, including a specially designed Nike interpretation of the series’ famous Jolly Roger emblem appearing on the tongues.

Nike is carrying the crossover beyond sneakers as well. A corresponding apparel range includes jerseys, T-shirts, hats, and a vest, blending One Piece imagery with archival Nike aesthetics. Some pieces reinterpret vintage Nike advertising through manga-style artwork, connecting the visual language of both brands.

The release strategy is nearly as elaborate as the collection itself. The Mera Mera colorway begins releasing September 12 through select retailers across Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, and Mexico. The Ope Ope follows September 19 through select retailers and pop-up events across the United States and Europe.

Access to the Gomu Gomu pair will vary by region. A SNKRS poll running through September 18 will determine pre-order access for select participants, while China, Mexico, Australia, and Korea will receive different release opportunities.

Pop-up events will also travel internationally throughout September, beginning in Tokyo on September 4. The broader One Piece x Nike collection launches globally September 25, 2026, with each Air Max Plus priced at $180 USD.
