Air Jordan 11 'Magic Ball' Brings Space Jam’s Most Mysterious Weapon to Life

One of the most memorable objects from the original Space Jam is getting its own sneaker. Jordan Brand is celebrating the film’s 30th anniversary with the Air Jordan 11 'Magic Ball,' a new women’s colorway inspired by the glowing basketball used to steal the talents of NBA stars.

In the 1996 film, the Monstars use the enchanted basketball to absorb the abilities of professional players, transforming themselves into formidable opponents for Michael Jordan and the Tune Squad. That supernatural element appears to be the inspiration behind one of Jordan Brand’s more unconventional anniversary releases.

The Air Jordan 11 'Magic Ball' replaces the silhouette’s familiar glossy patent leather appearance with a matte, iridescent finish. Its upper shifts between green and purple depending on the lighting, recreating the mysterious glow associated with the basketball from the movie.

Jordan Brand continues the darker treatment underneath with a black midsole and an opaque outsole. The combination creates a noticeably different look from the traditional Air Jordan 11, which is typically recognized for its polished patent leather and translucent sole.

The release adds another dimension to Jordan Brand’s expanding Space Jam 30th Anniversary collection. Alongside the returning Air Jordan 11 'Space Jam,' the lineup includes the upcoming 'Green Screen' colorway, offering three distinct interpretations of the film through the same iconic silhouette.

The celebration has also extended to other models, including the recently released Air Jordan 9 'Space Jam.' Together, these releases revisit different elements of the movie that helped cement Michael Jordan’s connection to sneaker and pop culture.

The Air Jordan 11 'Magic Ball' releases November 11, 2026, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers. The sneaker will be available in extended women’s sizing for $235 USD.
