Philadelphia is getting its own special edition of one of Nike's most recognizable sneakers. The Nike Air Force 1 ’01 'Philly' celebrates the city's basketball culture through a red, white, and blue design inspired by the Philadelphia 76ers, arriving alongside the excitement surrounding LeBron James' visit to the city.
The release follows Nike's earlier Air Force 1 ’01 'NYC,' which celebrated New York basketball during the Knicks' playoff run. While that version featured Madison Square Garden artwork, the Philadelphia edition takes a more direct approach to representing its hometown.

The most distinctive details appear on the heels, where “215” and “PHL” embroidery reference Philadelphia's area code and airport abbreviation. Both feature blue outlines with red Swooshes running through the lettering, while white “Phila” branding replaces the traditional Nike text on the blue heel tabs.
The sneaker's construction stays true to the classic Air Force 1, combining white leather overlays with Rush Blue panels across the perforated toe box and sides. University Red Swooshes provide contrast, accompanied by a smaller embroidered Swoosh near the laces.
A white midsole with blue “AIR” lettering maintains the familiar design, while a matching blue rubber outsole completes the basketball-inspired color scheme.

Nike also includes a hidden detail beneath the foot. The custom insoles feature black-and-white cracked brick wall artwork, with a red Nike logo appearing to break through the surface. The graphic gives the sneaker an additional visual element beyond its Philadelphia-inspired exterior.
The release continues Nike's tradition of celebrating major basketball cities through exclusive Air Force 1 designs, connecting the silhouette's streetwear legacy with local sports culture. The Nike Air Force 1 ’01 'Philly' releases October 22, 2026.
