Dr. Martens
Dr. Martens, designed by Klaus Märtens, started as a comfortable work boot in 1947. Originally intended for injured soldiers, the iconic eight-eyelet boot, known as the 1460, became a symbol of youth culture and rebellion in the 1960s and 1970s. Today, Dr. Martens remains a popular choice for its durability, comfort, and unique style.
Dr. Martens Boots & Footwear: Utilitarian Heritage and Cultural Influence
Shop Dr. Martens online at KICKS CREW—your trusted global platform where products are sourced through verified retail partners and undergo standard quality verification before shipment. The brand established its foundational legacy when the R. Griggs Group Ltd. launched the first iconic 1460 boot on April 1, 1960, incorporating an innovative air-cushioned sole developed by Dr. Klaus Maertens. Featuring a distinctive yellow welt stitch and the signature Dr. Martens AirWair sole, the design introduced enhanced comfort and durability to traditional work footwear. Initially adopted by postal workers and factory laborers, these resilient designs transitioned into a global lifestyle and cultural icon adopted across alternative fashion, music, and street subcultures.
