Nike Unveils Ja Morant's Explosive JA 4

Nike Basketball has officially unveiled the JA 4, the fourth signature sneaker for Ja Morant, designed to elevate the explosive athleticism and fearless style of one of the NBA's most electrifying guards. Building on the momentum of the JA 3, the latest model introduces several performance upgrades aimed at helping players attack the basket with confidence. At the center of the design is the all-new TPU JA-Frame, a lightweight support system that wraps around the foot to provide enhanced stability during sharp cuts, explosive first steps, and quick changes of direction.

The JA-Frame also transforms Ja's signature vertical Swoosh into a functional performance element. Rather than serving solely as branding, it becomes part of the shoe's containment system, reinforcing the aggressive, movement-focused identity that defines Morant's game.

Underfoot, Nike equips the JA 4 with a Cushlon 3.0 midsole paired with a lightweight supercritical foam SPRPWR sockliner. Together, the cushioning system delivers responsive comfort, energy return, and impact protection, helping players stay explosive throughout every possession.

Traction has also received a performance-focused update. A newly engineered multidirectional outsole pattern is designed for rapid acceleration and confident stops, while sculpted foam ridges along both sides of the shoe provide added durability and support during aggressive play.

The JA 4 continues Morant's tradition of incorporating personal storytelling throughout his signature line. His signature logo appears prominently across the sneaker alongside references to his former jersey number and Twelve Time Basketball program. Motivational phrases are hidden throughout the design, including "If you're down there, you're in the way" on the outsole and "I don't have motion where my feet at — it's global" along the medial upper.

The launch colorway, appropriately named 'Nightmare,' reflects the challenge Morant presents to defenders every time he steps onto the court. Known for some of basketball's boldest signature colorways, Ja once again delivers a vibrant debut that matches his dynamic style of play.

The JA 4 made its on-court debut during Nike's Elite Youth Basketball League in Las Vegas alongside NBA Summer League festivities, giving the next generation of players an early look at the future of the signature line.
