Suede and leather panel the upper of this women's Nike Cortez, giving the shoe two textures across a single tone. 'Peony' covers those panels in a soft pink, with a Sail-colored foam midsole and outsole lightening the base beneath. Nike built the Cortez in 1972 as its debut running shoe, and the low-slung profile and wedge midsole have stayed with it since. The angled heel wedge lifts the back of the shoe noticeably above the forefoot, a running geometry visible from the side.
