Nike released the Astrograbber in 1974 as a turf shoe for American football, built on a waffle outsole with deep square lugs for grip on AstroTurf. This women's Leather edition rebuilds the upper in full-grain leather in place of the original's mesh. 'Black Sail Muslin' carries a black base with Sail across the Swoosh and a muslin tone through the collar lining. Bill Bowerman designed the original, adapting the waffle sole from Nike's early running shoes.
