Lang traces the first Hirono drawings to 2020, made as his child was about to be born, and created the character for Pop Mart the following year. The Road Journal series renders him as plush pendants, softening a character Pop Mart usually produces in vinyl. Six boxes arrive concealed within the case. Hirono is recognizable by his oversized vacant eyes, disheveled hair and loose oversized clothing. Plush construction removes the hard edges the vinyl sculpts hold.
