Chinese illustrator Lang created Hirono for Pop Mart to hold intricate and often uncomfortable emotions. 'The Soul Corroder' renders erosion in felt by cutting ragged edges into the outer layer, so the darker base shows through in patches. Those gaps are placed along the body rather than at the silhouette's edge. Embroidery thread picks out the face in a contrasting color against the felt ground.
