The Nike LD-1000's upper divides plainly between a mesh body and suede reinforcement, a split Bowerman built into the 1977 long-distance original. 'Soft Grey' keeps both materials in one pale tone, so the division registers through texture rather than color, with the napped suede reading flatter than the woven mesh beside it.
