Suede replaced the calfskin and kangaroo leather of the PUMA Speedcat's racing original when the lifestyle version arrived in 2000, a year after the competition shoe. 'Icons Black Frosted Ivory' pairs a black suede upper with a frosted ivory formstrip and sole on this men's pair. The off-white tone extends into the heel tab and lace eyelets. The sole stays as thin as the 1999 original, which was cut for pedal feel rather than impact protection.
