Suede covers more of the Nike LD-1000 than the panel count suggests, wrapping the toe, eyestay, heel and collar trim on a shoe whose body is otherwise mesh. 'Black Dark Brown' keeps black on the mesh and a deep brown on that suede, two dark tones separated only where the stitching runs. The waffle outsole sits below. Bowerman designed the model in 1977, giving a long-distance trainer his molded tread in place of spikes.
