Nike's 1985 college basketball release gave the Dunk Low Retro a leather upper cut into separate quarter, toe and heel panels. 'Pure Platinum' holds all of them in one pale grey, including the Swoosh, so no color break marks where one piece meets the next. With the tones identical across the shoe, the stitched seams and the perforations across the toe box become the only features that register the upper's segmented construction.
