Nike Air Max 95 'Liverpool' Celebrates the City That Made It the “110”

In Liverpool, the Air Max 95 has an identity all its own. For decades, the sneaker has been embedded in the city’s street style, where its original £110 price tag created the nickname “110” that continues to follow the silhouette today.

Nike is now putting that relationship at the center of the Air Max 95 Big Bubble 'Liverpool,' a city-inspired release filled with details that speak directly to its Scouse roots.

Rather than using the Air Max 95’s traditional mirrored gradient, the design gives each side a different appearance. The lateral panels transition through lighter shades of grey, while the medial side moves into much darker charcoal and black tones. White sections provide contrast across the upper.

Small flashes of teal and orange add color around the tongue and lace system. The accents carry connections to Liverpool itself, referencing elements including the city’s brickwork and its famous Liver Bird.

The more direct tributes appear throughout the branding. Liverpool detailing lands on the tongue, “LPL” is placed beneath the Nike logo at the heel, and “Scouse” appears across the outsole, making the sneaker’s inspiration unmistakable.

Those details turn the release into more than another regional Air Max colorway. The Air Max 95 has maintained an unusually strong presence in Liverpool since the 1990s, and the “110” nickname remains a reminder of how deeply the shoe became integrated into local sneaker culture.
