Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'Somos Historias' Celebrates Día de Muertos With Limited Release

Jordan Brand continues its celebration of Mexican culture with the Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'Somos Historias,' a special release honoring Día de Muertos. Blending traditional symbolism with premium materials, the sneaker joins a growing collection of regionally inspired Air Jordans that celebrate Mexico's cultural heritage.

The design draws attention to the Xoloitzcuintli, an ancient Mexican dog breed closely associated with Día de Muertos. Traditionally believed to guide souls on their journey to the afterlife, the Xolo appears alongside the sneakers in Jordan Brand's official campaign imagery, reinforcing the collection's connection to remembrance and ancestry.

The sneaker features an earthy combination of Light Chocolate, Velvet Brown, and Black, creating a layered appearance through different materials and textures. Shaggy suede covers the heel and eyestays, while textured leather overlays add depth to the upper.

Instead of the Air Jordan 1's traditional leather Swoosh, Jordan Brand introduces woven side branding that complements the handcrafted aesthetic. A smaller Swoosh appears near the toe, while debossed graphics and Fresh Water teal accents provide additional contrast along the side panels, trim, and midsole.

Exclusivity is another defining part of the release. Each pair features an individually numbered tongue tag, with production reportedly limited to 5,036 pairs. Special packaging completes the presentation with a weathered concrete-inspired finish, Día de Muertos branding, and an oversized Wings logo.

The release follows the Air Jordan 4 'Somos Eternos' from 2025, continuing Jordan Brand's exploration of Mexican traditions through footwear. Previous regional celebrations have also included the Air Jordan 5 'El Grito' and Air Jordan 3 'El Vuelo,' both inspired by Mexican Independence Day.

The Air Jordan 1 Low OG 'Somos Historias' releases October 13, 2026, exclusively confirmed for Mexico.
