Stone Island and New Balance Reveal 1890 Collaboration

Stone Island and New Balance have officially unveiled their collaborative take on the New Balance 1890, introducing two colorways that continue the model’s growing momentum. The partnership adds another major name to the expanding 1890 lineup as New Balance pushes the silhouette through a series of high-profile collaborations.

Both colorways stay aligned with Stone Island’s established design identity, focusing on muted palettes, layered materials, and technical styling. One version leans into darker tones with olive, charcoal, and cream shades, while the second opts for softer grey, green, and off-white combinations that create a lighter appearance.

Material choices play a major role throughout the collection. Layered mesh construction forms the base of the upper, while synthetic sections and shaggy suede detailing near the heel introduce additional texture. The silhouette’s sculpted midsole and visible cushioning setup reinforce the model’s hybrid running influence while maintaining a modern profile.

Branding remains relatively restrained across both pairs. The familiar “N” logo blends naturally into the side panel design rather than becoming the focal point, while Stone Island logos on the tongue provide a cleaner collaborative touch. The darker pair introduces a bright neon green accent near the heel, creating the strongest visual contrast in the collection, while the lighter version takes a more understated approach.
