Post Malone is an American singer, rapper, writer, and record producer. He’s known for his laconic vocal style and introspective songwriting. He bends a range of genres, including pop, R&B, cloud rap, rap-rock, and hip hop.

Besides music, Malone loves exotic fashion elements. He is not afraid of bright colors and fur. And when it comes to shoes, he is the kind that mixes crocks, boots, and sneakers. His fashion sense often has him described as a walking meme.

Epic Shopping Trip with Post Malone

In his sneakers shopping trip at Complex, Post Malone joked about “…trying to do a deal and make his own sneakers with whoever gives him the most money.” And while he describes his go-to model as a super-high, tight shoe with a cowboy boot-style tip at the toe, Malone has a pretty commendable taste in sneakers.

He seemed to be fascinated with Jordan 11s and Supremes. Here’s a rundown of the top 6 favorite sneakers.

Supreme x Nike Air Force 1

The Nike Air Force 1 was originally released in 1982 as the first Nike model to employ “Air” technology.

It was designed by Bruce Kilgore and named after the plane that carries the US president – the Air Force One. The model is Nike’s popular shoe to date. It’s been produced in different colorways as well as low, mid, and high constructions.

Supreme then teamed up with Nike to produce what is termed as the most sought after collaborations of any season. In the Supreme x Nike Air Force 1, the New York label keeps things simple by adding the brand’s box logo at the heel side and throughout the sneaker.

The model also features a branded lacing system.

Now, such detailing may seem minor but given that its supreme’s branding, the clean-looking Air Force 1 is transformed from an ordinary shoe to hype-worthy footwear.

The model’s uniqueness lies in its simplicity. It features an adequate amount of stitched lines and well-laced perforations to hype the style. Grab yourself a pair here at an affordable price.

Air Jordan 11 Retro

The Air Jordan 11 Retro is more of a collectible or a casual sneaker than it is a solid on-court performer. It was originally released in 1995 as designed by Tinker Hatfield. The model debuted at a time when Michael Jordan returned from his early retirement. He came back to lead the Chicago Bulls in a 72-wins-10-loses season. The team garnered a spot in the 1995-1996 NBA Finals where they were to face the Seattle Supersonics. With his return, the Bulls ultimately won the championship title for the fourth time.

Air Jordan 11 retro is famous for its appearance in the movie “Space Jam” that featured Michael Jordan as a lead basketball player.

When it comes to tech, Jordan 11 uses a full-length air cushion a Phylon midsole. It has a clear yet solid rubber outsole that boosts its traction. It employs a combination of patent leather and ballistic mesh on the upper for a complete package on all matters comfort, stability, support, breathability, and durability.

According to Hatfield, “The shoe’s silhouette is inspired by a lawnmower.” He says, “I finally came across this higher quality patent leather that was not only shiny but was also tough, scratch-resistant and it would flex without cracking. It reminded me of that lawnmower, how the bottom edge of that lawnmower was really tough and designed to work in the conditions of mowing the lawn. I located [the patent leather] around the whole bottom third of the shoe for all those same reasons”

As such, the shoe has a simple aesthetics but still garners a nostalgic appeal.

Jordan Supreme Elevation

Jordan Supreme Elevation was inspired by 32nd Air Jordan. The model was first donned by Jimmy Butler on 7th November 2018. It’s a great China-exclusive that had a low-key release in March (2019).

The shoe features a Flyknit upper which has contributed to the hot debate about its durability. It’s reported to have the largest Zoom Air units and as such, it’s often tagged as the most responsive and comfortable shoe the brand has ever manufactured.

The model’s outsole is a combination of solid rubber and icy translucent rubber. The solid rubber is equipped with a lateral herringbone pattern for superior traction. The translucent rubber features squares in an angular pattern to further boost its traction.

Jordan Supreme Elevation is a true size with a reliable lockdown system. Unfortunately, users seem to have an issue with its durability as well as heel slippage. Nonetheless, the shoe remains great for a street style or working out purposes – even if it is not a great on-court performer.

New Balance Postal 706 v2

Users commend this shoe for its comfortability. Its praised for its durability and professional look. However, there are usually complaints about its fit, laces that kee untying, and the annoying squeaking sound.

As such, the shoes lacked support from postal workers even after being approved by the USPS (United States Postal Service).

The model’s outsole is made of polyurethane, an abrasion-resistant compound. This increases its durability. The polyurethane also provides superior traction on multiple surfaces.

Note, the shoe utilizes the Walking Strike Path feature that guides your feet during the walking gait cycle. The technology serves to evenly distribute your weight as the foot transitions from the heel to the toe – which maintains balance in your movements.

The midsole uses a compression-resistant cushion. The soft cushioning system helps attenuate shock and as such, prevents injuries or discomfort. Added to that is the Rollbar posting system in the rear section that reduces the rearfoot movement to enhance stability. The sneaker is also durable with a secure and snug fit.

Eminem x Carhartt x Air Jordan 4

The Jordan brand partnered with Carhartt and Eminem to produce an exclusive version of the Air Jordan 4 retro. The model was designed to honor the 15th Anniversary of Shady Records.

It’s available in metallic silver and black colorways, which makes it pairable with multiple outfits.

The model features Eminem branding throughout and a black-based Carhartt upper with silver accents completed with a full-translucent gum sole.

The resulting Huarache E.D.G.E. adds a modern twist on the mentioned silhouette with the FOAM FIT system. The system serves to bypass/remove the sock liner, which allows the foot to sit directly over the foam, what comfort and soft feel?

The model has a chunky sole and a personalized branding – Preston’s signature signage on the heel and toe box.

The shoe reflects on Preston’s commitment to offering something unique and fresh to Nike. Preston says, “I’m all about telling stories.” He adds, “Having worked at Nike and understanding the full breadth of product categories the brand has to offer, I wanted to be the person to take on the challenge of identifying and celebrating new stuff.”

The Heron Preston x Huarache E.D.G.E., was debuted in Paris during Preston’s “Night Shift” show. The release was completed with the entire airport terminal feel set up in the venue.
