Nike is continuing Kobe Bryant’s draft-night storytelling with the Nike Kobe 4 Protro 'Lakers,' the standout pair from the larger Draft Day collection. While the wider pack centers around teams that passed on Bryant during the 1996 NBA Draft, this version shifts the focus toward the franchise that ultimately became synonymous with his legacy.

Unlike the other pairs in the collection, which rely on white tearaway uppers tied to individual draft teams, the Lakers edition immediately embraces the familiar colors most associated with Bryant’s career. University Gold covers nearly the entire upper, extending through the tongue, laces, heel counter, and midsole to create a bold monochromatic foundation.

Purple details provide contrast across the sneaker, appearing on the Swoosh, Kobe logos, outsole sections, and additional lace options. The outsole also features a marbled finish blending gold and purple together, reinforcing the Lakers-inspired color story while adding extra visual texture underfoot. White outlining around the Swoosh creates separation along the side profile and gives the design more definition.
