Nike Caitlin 1 'Chiefs' Celebrates Clark’s Longtime Fandom

Caitlin Clark’s first signature line is quickly becoming a canvas for stories beyond basketball. For one of the Caitlin 1’s upcoming releases, Nike is looking to a team Clark has supported since childhood: the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Nike Caitlin 1 'Chiefs' dresses Clark’s signature sneaker in the red and gold colors synonymous with Kansas City. The connection is a natural one for Clark, who has publicly supported the Chiefs for years, attended games, and previously exchanged jerseys with wide receiver Rashee Rice.

University Red dominates the sneaker, covering most of the upper and immediately establishing the football-inspired palette. University Gold appears through portions of the midsole and outsole, while a large black Swoosh creates contrast along the sides.

Metallic detailing adds another dimension around Clark’s signature branding on the tongue. The official palette also includes White, Metallic Silver, and Racer Blue, introducing smaller accents around the otherwise red-heavy design.

Despite the nickname, the sneaker does not use official Chiefs or NFL branding. Instead, Nike communicates the connection entirely through color, allowing the Caitlin 1 to reference Clark’s fandom while remaining part of her own signature identity.

That personal storytelling is becoming an important part of the Caitlin 1.
