LeBron James (aka King James) is hailed as the second greatest player of all time -- second only to Michael Jordan. As if winning four NBA championships, four MVP awards, and three All-Star MVP awards weren't enough, James also earned two Olympic gold medals.

The NBA legend scored the most points in a playoff game and the second-most career points, ever. James is also no stranger to fashion. Over the course of 2 decades, the NBA MVP has collaborated with Nike to create and design nearly 20 athletic shoes.

Superfans of the GOAT will be excited to hear that another basketball shoe is joining the ranks -- the Nike LeBron Witness 4 EP. Keep reading for an inside look at the newest kick in the King's collection.

About the LeBron Witness 4 EP

Affordable price and sleek design meet good ankle support and performance in LeBron's latest basketball shoe. Some sneaker experts are comparing the Witness 4 to another popular shoe in the GOAT's collection -- the Nike LeBron 16. With a reasonable price tag, serious ballers are buying this sneaker in multiple colorways.

The LeBron Witness 4 is the fourth model in the King's budget-friendly Witness line and is priced at around $100 USD. The design is considered a mix between the Lebron 16 and 17. The original colorway features black, white, and grey tones. The mesh texture is breathable and flexible for comfort both on and off the court.

Sneakerheads that want an iconic LeBron shoe for a more reasonable price will be pleasantly surprised by the look, feel, and performance of the Witness 4 EP.

Design Built to Perform

The Witness 4 offers reliable support and cushion in a light and breathable design for optimal performance. The mesh upper and woven textile offers plenty of airflow and flexibility. Ballers can move with ease on the court, praising the sneaker's responsiveness.

This is mostly thanks to the Nike Zoom Air units in the forefront and midsole of the shoe. The cushions compress under your weight and quickly spring back to provide the energy and boost you need to make those epic jump shots.

While most users agree that the Witness 4 provides ample ankle support, others disagree. The stiff ankle construction is designed to offer support but may prove uncomfortable for some people. Most customers agreed that the shoe needs some "breaking in" before hitting the court. You may notice that the sneaker is difficult to get on during your first few attempts but the shoe's tongue pull tab helps with this.

The LeBron Witness 4 EP also boasts a shockwave tread pattern that offers more aggressive traction. With that being said, some users claim the sneaker could benefit from even more court grip that supports quick movements on the hardwood.

Despite a few downsides, the newest addition to the King's Witness line is built to last. The durable and flexible material should withstand an entire basketball season, offering customers the most bang for their buck.

The Look and Colorways

Like many sneakers in the King's collection, the aesthetic appeal of the LeBron Witness 4 is in the details. The LeBron lion head logo is clearly visible on the basketball shoe's plastic heel clip, which also offers additional ankle support.

The iconic Nike swoosh is displayed on the forefoot, while LeBron's logo is strategically placed on the sneaker's tongue tab. You'll notice two visible Zoom Air pods on the shoe's midsole. The outsole is designed with a wavy traction pattern and another classic Lebron crown logo.

While the original colorway of the Witness 4 is black and white, the King released this affordable sneaker in a variety of colorways. Some of the most popular include:

  • Black with bright crimson and gym red
  • Black with hyper cobalt and clear
  • Black with Opti yellow, white, and voltage purple
  • Black with white, iron grey, and pure platinum
  • White with Amarillo and field purple
  • White with voltage purple, pure platinum, and metallic gold
  • Summit white with Opti yellow and oracle aqua

With 13 colorways in total, you can opt for a classic black and white design or something more flashy that includes bright yellow, vibrant purple, or metallic gold. You can also invest in more than one pair for your collection thanks to the sneaker's reasonable price point.

The Nike Lebron Witness 4 EP vs. Other Models

Sometimes the best way to decide on your next sneaker purchase is to compare your options, side by side. Here's a quick look a how the Witness 4 stacks up against other shoes in the King's collection.

Nike LeBron Witness 3

It only makes sense to compare the Witness 4 to the one that came before it -- the Nike LeBron Witness 3. This new model has a few notable differences from its predecessor.

Both models offer a mesh upper for increased breathability, but the Witness 4 utilizes a mid-top collar and external heel counter for good ankle support. The Witness 3 has a low-top collar that supports the Achilles for increased mobility.

The LeBron Witness 4 EP boasts individual Air Zoom units on the forefront for cushion and responsiveness. The Witness 3 relies on Phylon foam in the midsole and full-length Air unit.

In terms of traction, the Witness 3 has a herringbone tread design, whereas the new Witness 4 model features a wave-like pattern.

Nike LeBron 17

The Nike LeBron 17 is another new addition to the Nike Lebron collection but comes with a slightly higher price tag. Here are some of the other notable differences between the 17 and the Witness 4.

Unlike the individual Zoom Air units in the midsole that give the Witness 4 its cushion and bounce, the LeBron 17 utilizes a massive Max Air unit in the heel and a single max volume Zoom Air unit in the shoe's forefront. When it comes to good ankle support, the 17 has a high-top design and KnitPosite upper for added stability.

This same KnitPosite in the sneaker's upper is what gives the LeBron 17 added containment and durability but also makes it less breathable than the Witness 4. It does, however, have a stabilizing heel clip similar to the Witness 4 to help lock your foot in place.

Expand Your LeBron Sneaker Collection and Improve Your Game

LeBron James is the King both on and off the court. It only seems right that the NBA GOAT has the experience and know-how to design some of the best basketball shoes on the market.

If you want to expand your sneaker collection without breaking the bank, the LeBron witness 4 EP is a great value. Affordability and design meet performance in this newest addition to LeBron's budget-friendly Witness line.
