Finally a Good Look at the Nike SB Dunk High "Strawberry Cough"
We know 4/20 as the day Nike presents something special and comical, so imagine our shock when they reportedly scrapped the SB Dunk High “Strawberry Cough”. But fortunately, these fruity kicks will be making a retail debut this fall.
First previewed in March, the “Strawberry Cough” gets its name and moniker from the fruit-flavored cannabis. As a Todd Bratrud design, these upcoming Dunk Highs are very on-brand:
Upon first glance, the color scheme screams “strawberry”. Red leather monopolizes the forefoot and midfoot areas, and is cleverly adorned with seed-like dots to replicate the fruit. The rest of the pair comes in shaggy green suede, which is on-theme with the previous 420 releases.
Taking departure from the loud color combination, the tongue is in cream mesh and accented with a Nike SB tag.
Of course, you can’t miss the center-piece of the “Strawberry Cough”: a coughing strawberry embroidered on the lateral heel. This whimsical element really serves as the icing on top.
From photos that surfaced online, it seems that the coughing strawberry graphic will be featured on the insole as well. That’s certainly more fun for all of us.
Underfoot, an icy translucent outsole envelopes the red/green midsole to complete the look. Red stitching can be spotted as detailing.
At this moment, there’s no official release dates yet. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled for updates in the future! Before you go, check out our collection of Nike SB releases at kickscrew.com.
