Denim on Denim: 4 Best Denim Sneakers in 2020

It’s way past the 2000s, and the usage of denim outside of jeans is still pretty polarizing. Regardless, you can’t deny classic sneaker silhouettes still look great dressed in denim. Today we’ve prepared for you a list of best denim sneakers in 2020.

Air Jordan 6 Retro “Washed Denim”

As part of Jordan Brand’s Holiday 2019 lineup, the Air Jordan 6 “Washed Denim” hit the market wrapped in, duh, washed denim.

In this iteration, the usual leather upper and overlay panelings are done in dual-toned denim. Outlined by black plastic, another feature of the “Washed Denim” with be the tan leather tongue.

Underneath the washed denim outfit, a black-and-white sole is in place to not outshine the fabric. Topping it all off is a shoelace lock in vibrant Varsity Red.

Mixing the classic silhouette with a somewhat unconventional fabric, the “Washed Denim” can be yours for as low as $130 USD on kickscrew.com.

Nike Air Max 90 “Diffused Blue”

The Air Max 90 “Diffused Blue” might not ring a bell to you, as it was made for the Japanese market. Which only means one thing: we are totally missing out.

Even though the color scheme is essentially two-toned only, the variety in materials and textures is definitely astounding. The usual leather upper is crafted by blue linen and accented by different hues of blue.

Details such as the stitch work makes the “Diffused Blue” look like a pair of denim jeans, but in a tasteful and conceptual way.

Following the grand Air Max 90 tradition, the design is completed by a chunky white midsole with exposed Air cushioning.

Just out in May 2020, you can still grab yours from Japanese retailers online.

Nike Air Tailwind 79 “Denim”

In terms of silhouette, the Air Tailwind 97 is one of the best models around. With a simple and elegant shape, they can certainly make make any fabric look good.

Released in late June, the “Denim” colorway introduces a mix-match of textures with a limited color scheme. While a good portion of the upper is constructed with denim fabric in dark and light blues, muted blue suede makes its way to the mudguard and heel counter.

The white tongue and lace are complemented by the equally white midsole. Branding can be found on the tongue and heel, both coming in vibrant orange. A big Swoosh in black completes the timeless design.

If you’re looking to up your trainer game, the Air Tailwind 97 “Denim” is definitely an option.

Nike SB Dunk Low “Denim Gum”

2020 is the year the Nike goes off with their SB Dunk Low releases. After the iconic Ben & Jerry’s and Grateful Dead designs, Nike is giving us room to breathe with the subtle “Denim Gum”.

The upper design is fairly simplistic, featuring exclusively light and dark blue denim. White stitching accentuates the upper in the form of Swooshes and waves of curves. Don’t overlook the perforated toe box, as the holes are cross-shaped.

Underneath the white midsole is a gum rubber outsole, which partially contributes to the “Denim Gum” name.

The “Denim Gum” offering will be out on August 1 with the price tag of $100 USD. Best of luck getting your hands on these denim sneakers!

We hope you enjoyed this count down of denim sneakers, even if you’re not a fan of the fabric. Stay tuned for more lists like this in the future!
