Caitlin Clark’s Iowa Roots Inspire New Nike Caitlin 1 PE

Before Caitlin Clark became the face of the Indiana Fever and one of Nike Basketball’s biggest signature athletes, she built her name wearing black and gold at Iowa. Those colors are now making their way onto her first signature sneaker. Clark recently unveiled a new Nike Caitlin 1 PE dressed almost entirely in the unmistakable yellow and black associated with the Iowa Hawkeyes, creating one of the clearest connections yet between her upcoming signature line and her college career.

Bright yellow dominates the upper before gradually transitioning into black toward the bottom of the shoe. A black midsole continues the darker finish underfoot, keeping the design almost entirely within the two-color Hawkeyes palette.

It is a fitting look for a player whose time at Iowa transformed her into a national basketball star. Clark's college career helped make her one of the most recognizable athletes in the sport, and the new Caitlin 1 offers a subtle way to bring that chapter of her story into her Nike signature era.

The tongues add another personal element. Clark's double-C signature logo appears on the right shoe, while the opposite tongue introduces a location pin-style graphic. Nike has not explained the meaning behind the new symbol. Its resemblance to a map marker could potentially reference Clark's reputation for shooting from exceptionally deep range, though that connection has not been confirmed.

Clark personally revealed the sneakers through her Instagram Stories, adding another player exclusive to the growing collection of Caitlin 1 colorways she has previewed ahead of the model's wider rollout.

Nike has used those on-court and personal reveals to gradually introduce different sides of Clark's first signature sneaker. This pair brings the story back to where her rise to basketball superstardom began. For now, the Nike Caitlin 1 'Iowa Hawkeyes' appears to be a player exclusive created specifically for Clark. Nike has not announced plans for a retail release.
